KGSA Registration Information

 

How is the league organized?
The purpose of KGSA is to provide a league for girls of any experience level (first-time players to returning players) in the Katy and surrounding area to play softball in an environment that promotes fun competition and learning. We play according to age levels (starting at 4 years old).

What division is my daughter eligible for? 
Division eligibility is determined by the player's age attained by January 1, each year for the season being played. Players are allowed to play up in division with prior notice and approval from KGSA. We designate the following registration brackets.

Divisions:
NON-DRAFTED DIVISIONS
:
6U (6 and under) (4-6 years old)  

DRAFTED DIVISIONS:
8U (8 and under) (7-8 years old) 
10U (10 and under) (9 and 10 years old)
12U (12 and under) (11 and 12 years old)
13U (13 and up) (13+ years old)

When is Registration?
Spring Registration - December thru January.
Fall Registration - May thru August


If I missed registration can I still get on a team?
Please contact the appropriate league commissioner for your division about getting on a team.  Registration is closed once teams are full for each division (12 players per team).

What does my registration fee pay for?
Fees provide uniforms, Umpire Fees, KGSA league lease, trophies and awards, team pictures, (personalized pictures may be available for an additional fee), equipment purchases and equipment repair, professional accounting services, printing, postage, and advertisements, etc.

When and where will practices and games be held?
All practices are at the discretion of the team manager and should be organized in a central location to the player's location unless a team is practicing at the KGSA fields or other sporting complex. Games will be held at the KGSA facilities located at Paul D. Rushing park.


How many games do you play per season?
The Spring season consists of Ten games plus an End of Season tournament.  Games will be played on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Sundays are used for rain make-ups. All games will be scheduled in a double-headed format (when possible as needed to complete all games).    


The Fall season consists of Eight games plus an End of Season tournament. Games will be played on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Sundays are used for rain make-ups. All games will be scheduled in a double-headed format (when possible as needed to complete all games).    

 
What are the registration costs?
Spring Registration is $195 ($155 for additional sibling registered).                                                                                                          
Fall Registration is $175 ($135 for additional sibling registered).
Late registration is $40 additional and will be applied to any registration completed after the day of tryouts.

Where can I register?
You can register either online or at the walk-up registration site. Walk-up sites are listed during registration.   
 
Raffle:
Registration comes with $50 worth of raffle tickets that can be sold to help offset a portion of your registration. This money does not need to be given back to the league. The raffle will take place on opening day. Raffle items include items similar to: HD smart LED TV, Google home speaker, speakers, chairs, fitness watch, fastpitch bat, hitting net, etc)
 
Refund Policy
Prior to tryouts - 100% refund *less $25 admin fee
After tryouts (before game schedule is released) - 50% refund *less $25 admin fee
After game schedule is released - no refund
Requests due to joining a tournament team are not eligible for any refund
